The Radha Raman Temple in Vrindavan, Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, is one of the most sacred and historically revered temples dedicated to Lord Krishna. Established in the 16th century, it is known for housing a self-manifested (Swayambhu) deity of Radha Raman Ji, an incarnation of Krishna, and is a significant center of Gaudiya Vaishnavism.
This temple was established in 1542 CE by Gopala Bhatta Goswami, one of the six Goswamis of Vrindavan and a direct disciple of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Legend says that Gopala Bhatta Goswami longed for a deity of Krishna. Miraculously, one of his shaligram shilas transformed into a beautiful deity of Radha Raman Ji — a rare example of a self-manifested idol.
Unlike many temples in Vrindavan, Radha Raman Temple does not have a separate idol of Radha, but devotees believe that Radha resides eternally in the heart of Raman Ji.
Built in typical North Indian temple style with detailed carvings and sacred geometry.
The sanctum sanctorum houses the original black stone deity of Radha Raman Ji.
Maintained in its original form since the 16th century — one of the few temples that survived Mughal invasions without damage.
