    ๐Ÿ›๏ธ Temple History

The temple was established in 1864 by Swami Haridas, a renowned saint and musician of the Bhakti movement and guru of the legendary musician Tansen.

The deity of Banke Bihari is believed to have appeared miraculously to Swami Haridas in Nidhivan, a sacred grove in Vrindavan.

    ๐ŸŽจ Architectural Highlights

Rajasthani style architecture with intricate stone carvings and arched gateways.

No bells or conches are used inside; the atmosphere remains calm and meditative.

The darshan (viewing of the deity) is intermittent. Curtains are drawn every few seconds, based on the belief that Krishnaโ€™s intense gaze can overwhelm devotees.

    ๐Ÿ•‰๏ธ Unique Rituals

No Mangala Aarti (early morning) like in other Krishna temples, as Banke Bihari is treated like a child who should not be disturbed early.

Jhulan Yatra, Janmashtami, and Radhashtami are celebrated with great devotion.

During Shravan month, the deity is placed on a beautifully decorated swing (Jhula).
